Walking the Vines at Tahbilk – Harvest Vineyard Experience

Step into the heart of Tahbilk during harvest and explore one of Australia’s most historically significant vineyards with Winemaker Jo Nash.

With more than 20 years of winemaking experience, Jo guides guests through vineyard blocks that span generations, including the 1860 Vines Shiraz, the iconic 1927 Vines Marsanne, Cabernet Sauvignon planted in the 1940s, and additional vineyards from the 1950s through to the 1980s. The experience also highlights newer plantings, including Tahbilk’s three-times trophy-winning Fiano, offering insight into how tradition and innovation sit side by side.

This behind-the-scenes vineyard walk invites questions about why Tahbilk was established on this site, how the vineyard is managed today, and how a light-touch approach to viticulture, water management, and primum fruit influences wine style. Guests are encouraged to ask about harvesting, winemaking decisions, and how small parcels of fruit are used to craft exclusive wines for the Tahbilk Wine Club.

Jo also shares personal insights from her time leading the estate over the past five years, including lessons learned from challenging seasons such as the October 2022 floods, and how resilience and long-term thinking shape Tahbilk’s future.

The experience concludes with a relaxed two-course lunch, thoughtfully paired with a glass of Tahbilk wine.
