In the 1930s the Purbrick family began to make their mark on the garden after 2nd Generation Tahbilk Custodian, Eric Stevens Purbrick and his young family arrived from England to take up residence at the homestead.
Nowadays the homestead garden is home to trees planted back in the 1860's protected by the National Tree Trust, native varietals as well as few rare and precious species.
Throughout the tour, hear from chief groundsman Travis McCarty how each generation of the Purbrick family has influenced the garden and the efforts that are being made to maintain this most beautiful and unique garden.
Following the tour of the homestead gardens, enjoy a lovely two course meal on the deck of Tahbilk Estate's Restaurant with a glass of current vintage Tahbilk Estate wine.
